Feltech’s Nevil Bounds talks to Kevin McLoughlin, AV Manager at 1 Wimpole Street, home of the Royal Society of Medicine about what it takes to provide award winning AV services for over 400 conferences a year in the heart of London’s West End.

Making conferences at the venue as accessible as possible is high on the agenda at the RSM.  The venue is working towards Louder than Words™ accreditation from Action on Hearing Loss and have recently installed Sennheiser Mobile Connect to add an extra layer of assistive listening for delegates. Kevin McLoughlin, AV Manager at 1 Wimpole Street, home of the Royal Society of Medicine

Kevin joined the Royal Society of Medicine in 1995, having already held several positions in the hospitality and events business in London and his native North West.

Leading a team of 8 technicians, together they provide Audio Visual services and support for the Royal Society of Medicine’s internal meetings, its Academic programme of conferences and its commercial meeting and events clients across two sites at 1 Wimpole Street and Chandos House.

Kevin is a management committee member of the AV User Group, the current holder of the AV Magazine Award for AV Professional of the Year and an Infocomm Certified Technology Specialist.

The RSM AV team hold the title of ‘most innovative and tech-friendly venue’ 2016 from the Event Tech Awards and are past winners of AV Magazine AV Awards ‘In-House AV Team of the Year’.
