Premiere of Bill Viola: The Road to St Paul’s

Premiere of Bill Viola: The Road to St Paul’s + Q&A

As part of the Sundance Film Festival: London 2017 the Picture House, West End presents the premiere of “Bill Viola: The Road to St Paul’s” on November 8th 2017.

The film is a portrait of the world’s most influential video artist, Bill Viola and his wife and collaborator, Kira Perov. The husband and wife team are captured on their twelve-year odyssey to create and install two permanent video installations, Mary and Martyrs (Earth, Air, Fire, Water) on either side of the High Altar in St Paul’s Cathedral.

The film features behind the scenes footage of both Mary and Martyrs location shoots and the reveal of the installation at St Paul’s Cathedral with Canon Mark Oakley, Chancellor of St Paul’s and the Feltech engineering team responsible for the technical installation.

Following the Premiere screening, a special Q&A will take place with director Gerry Fox in discussion with Sandy Nairne CBE, former Director of the National Portrait Gallery and current Chair of the Fabric Advisory Committee at St Paul’s Cathedral.
