Feltech are delighted to have been shortlisted for the third year running for a prestigious AV Award, this year in the Education Project of the Year category for the University of Greenwich TV Studios and Post Production facilities.
The University of Greenwich facilities were designed by Feltech to offer students the opportunity to experience modern end-to-end High Definition workflows from studio to post-production, edit and final delivery.
The facilities are situated in the new Stockley Street campus designed by Architects Heneghan Peng who wanted the building to incite learning, teaching and research at the highest levels.
As a modern, challenging University collaborative working across disciplines is essential. The building and its facilities embody this ethos and the audio-visual components must too.
The facilities offer a single creative hub that nurtures talents from film, animation and design. The environment is designed to inspire above and beyond simple functionality. The studios and associated facilities, including multi-camera sound stages, sound recording, grading, edit suites and central shared storage offer high-spec equipment in industry standard layouts so that students can quickly adapt to commercial environments once they leave education. The aim is to combine student’s practical development alongside creative experimentation.
Feltech’s Head of Digital Workflow John Perez said “I am delighted that Feltech’s work at the University of Greenwich has been recognised by the AV Awards. Feltech designed, installed and commissioned the facilities as a collaborative environment to incite learning and creativity and the result is a triumph of joined up, innovative design and collaborative data management technology. The new facilities offers students a flexible, easy to use environment with high performance equipment whilst delivering maximum return on investment.”
The AV Awards 2015 will be held at the Grosvenor Park Hotel on September 25th 2015.
